Hello, my name is Mrs. Beverly Neal Hilton , I am the founder of the Dallas and Houston Dance Association. In 2007, I was introduced to swing dance by my beautiful daughter Amari, and shortly thereafter, I began taking swing dance lessons at Crystal's Night Club in Arlington, Texas. My first instructors were Mr. James King and Mr. D'Extra. As an inexperienced dancer, I found the art of swing difficult in the beginning.
After receiving six weeks of instruction, I attended my first dance event at Crystal's Night Club. As the 70's theme party got on its way, I was glued to my seat due to being intimidated by what I saw on the dance floor. I was so amazed at the different styles of dance and the multitude of people who were there to dance. It was amazing to see the type of influence swing dance had on the Dallas - Fort Worth Community.
As I searched the web, for dance information I came across two impressive dance websites: www.dfwswingdance.com and www.tdubdancingstudio.com.
After reviewing the two web sites, I took a step back and reflected on how God used these two beautiful women in the dance community. I contacted Ms. Brigitta Baylor and Ms. Tonia Wallace and expressed my humbleness toward their visions. I did not realize that God had me waiting next in line to step forward and launch a new dance web site.
After living in the Dallas area for three years, I decided to move to Houston, Texas where I have the opportunity to launch my own dance web site. The new web site will connect the Dallas area to the Houston area creating a sister station networking firm which highlights female dance promoters.
Well, in my departure from the Dallas area I would like to take this time to thank all of my old bosses at the Arlington Entertainment Center: Mr. Monroe, Mr Kelam Wilkes, Ms. Rena Washington, Sir Charles and Big Smooth for allowing me to be me and to do the things that I do." I must say this has truly been a great journey". And to Mrs. Marsha Johnson @ Fashions for the Cure, Thank You for allowing me to share the runway with you.
I would also like to acknowledge some more very special people who I met along the way, whose lights were always shining no matter what the case may have been; Mr. KK Smith; Mike & Tim Davis from Emerald City Bar & Grill; Mr. Mark & Mr. Tucker at Club Ice in Ft - Worth TX; DFW Swing Dance Promoter's Ms. Brigitta Baylor & Mr. W. Starr II; Stephanie & Jesse Rivera; Lady Champagne & X-xpose'; Ms. Dawn Seals; Ms. Cookie Peters; Ms. Felisha Washington; Ms. Yolanda Scott; Jackie & Mike; Sharell & Melvin; Bennie & Pam; Tommy & Brenda; Jamie & Phyllis; Teresa & Andrea; Mr. Ernie Bernard & Ms. TaMika Steward; Mr. Brian McDaniels; Ms. Sherry Thompson & Ms. Jennifer Thompson, and last but not least, Mr .Terry Tucker & the whole entire Supreme Swing Dance Family. My prayer for all of you is may our Father God, continue to elevate each and every one of you and that you may surpass everything in this world.
Love always, Mrs. Beverly Neal
